Balon gains his Tour Guiding Certificate

In March this year Balon, one of our N/a’an ku sê Lodge tour guides, went to Botswana for a month on an Amarula Scholarship to attend a Field Guide Association of South Africa accredited course at the Mashatu Camp in the Tuli Reserve.

This is a fantastic opportunity for the San Bushman who had no training or experience prior to joining  N/a’an ku sê. We can't thank Burgland Charity enough for generously paying for Balon’s plane ticket, and this was the first time that Balon had left Namibia, or even been on an aeroplane!

Following completion of this course Balon will now take his final qualification exam in Windhoek. Congratulations and good luck Balon!

Exciting new Partnerships!

Our Clever Cubs School has Food for Thought

Malnutrition causes poor growth in children, leading to impaired mental development, poor scholastic and intellectual development. Vitamin and mineral deficiencies weaken productivity and the capacity of children to learn properly in school. Ensuring children receive a proper, nutritionally balanced diet is a responsibility we take seriously and believe it should be part of the care we provide as educators.

Thanks to Bonpoint each child at Clever Cubs receives a hot main meal at lunchtime such as pasta or rice with meat, a piece of fruit and a juice drink. The children attending schools in Windhoek now receive a full packed lunch with sandwiches, fruit and a drink. For most of the children it is the only meal they receive during the day.

Thank you Bonpoint from all of us at N/a’an ku sê
